  7. 200g smoked or dried fish (optional)
  8. 5-6 cups water
  9. Salt to taste
  10. A handful of fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
  11. 2 green chilies, slit (adjust to taste)

Method:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Rinse the vegetables thoroughly. If using smoked or dried fish, soak it in water for a few minutes, then clean and set aside.
  2. Cook the Stew:
    • In a large pot, combine the chopped vegetables, potatoes, tomato, onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Add water and bring to a boil.
    • Reduce the heat to a simmer, add the fish (if using), and season with salt. Cover and cook for about 20-25 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Garnish and Serve:
    • Once the vegetables are cooked, check the seasoning and adjust if necessary. Turn off the heat and add chopped coriander leaves for garnish.
    • Serve hot as a soup or with steamed rice for a complete meal.
