  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2½ cups full-cream milk powder
  • 3 tablespoons chopped pistachios

  1. In a bowl, mix 2½ cups of milk powder, ¾ cup sugar, and 1 cup of milk. Whisk until everything is well combined.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a large nonstick pan. Add ¼ cup of ghee and mix well over low flame.
  3. Stir continuously on low flame until the mixture thickens and starts to separate from the pan, about 10 minutes.
  4. Be cautious not to overcook, as it may make the burfi hard. If undercooked, it might turn chewy.
  5. Transfer the burfi dough onto a tray lined with baking paper. Press gently to level it.
  6. Top with a few chopped pistachios, press gently again, and cover. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until it sets completely.
  7. After 1 hour, unmold the burfi and cut with a sharp knife.
  8. Enjoy the delightful milk burfi! It stays great for a week when stored in an airtight container.

For a richer flavor, you can enhance the milk burfi by adding a touch of cardamom powder to the mixture before refrigerating. It adds a delightful aromatic essence to your sweet treat.
