Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon celery seed
  • 2 (6-ounce) cod fillets, patted dry
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method:

  1. Mix smoked paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and celery seed in a bowl until well combined. Season both sides of the cod fillets with this mixture and place them on a plate.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Add the cod and fry for 3 minutes.
  3. Flip the fillets, add lemon juice, and continue frying until the cod easily flakes with a fork, around 2 minutes more. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes:
When frying cod, aim for a hot skillet to achieve a golden crust without overcooking the fish. Adjust the heat as needed for a perfect balance of texture and flavor.
