Preparation time: 15 min

Total time: 30 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 whole carp fish, cleaned and scaled
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Fresh greens for garnish

Method:

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  2. Pat the cleaned and scaled carp fish dry with paper towels. Dredge each fish in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated on all sides.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (180°C).
  4. Carefully place the coated fish in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the fish for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Once cooked, remove the fried fish from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  6. Serve the fried fish carp hot, garnished with lemon wedges and fresh greens.

Notes:
For a healthier alternative, you can bake the seasoned fish in the oven instead of frying. Simply preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), place the seasoned fish on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
