  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • Water (as needed for dough)


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour with enough water to form a soft, pliable dough.
  2. Divide the dough into golf ball-sized portions.
  3. Roll each portion into a flat, round shape using a rolling pin.
  4. Heat a griddle or tawa over medium-high heat.
  5. Place the rolled dough onto the hot griddle and cook until bubbles form, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown spots appear.
  6. Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.

For softer rotis, cover the dough and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before rolling and cooking.
