Total time: 1 hour 5 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 lemons
  • 1 1/4 quarts water

Method:

  1. Peel the rinds from the 5 lemons and slice them into 1/2-inch pieces. Set the lemons aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine the lemon rinds with sugar, allowing it to stand for about an hour to let the sugar absorb the lemon oils.
  3. Meanwhile, bring water to a boil in a covered saucepan. Once boiling, pour the hot water over the sugared lemon rinds. Let the mixture cool for 20 minutes, then remove the rinds.
  4. In another bowl, squeeze the juice from the lemons through a strainer into the sugar mixture. Stir well, transfer to a pitcher, and refrigerate.
  5. Serve with ice cubes for a refreshing treat!

Notes:
For an extra burst of flavor, consider adding a sprig of fresh mint or a few slices of lemon as garnish when serving your lemonade. It adds a visually appealing touch and enhances the overall taste experience!
